Happy New Year!After wrapping up an incredible year, we want to take a moment to reflect on how far we’ve come and share some highlights from 2024. From expanding our team to rolling out new innovations, it’s been a year of building momentum and driving forward the future of electric travel.
Highlights of 2024
🚐 Vans Built
We built 10 G2s for customers across the country, each customized to fit unique lifestyles and needs. Over the year, we've improved efficiency, reducing material waste and build times, while also improving the quality of our products. From the van insulation to the furniture modules, G2s are getting better and better and reaching customers faster than ever!
💰 Funding Milestones
We closed a $3.5M pre-seed round, which will fuel growth for the future through product improvements, manufacturing expansion and serving additional customer verticals and use cases.
🧑🤝🧑 Team Growth
The Grounded family has grown to 13 team members! We’ve added incredible talent across engineering, production, and customer support. We recently welcomed Matt Hroma, our new VP of Engineering and Operations, who comes from leading manufacturing teams at SpaceX and Amazon Kuiper. We also had our first team retreat, heading to a lake in Michigan for a well-deserved weekend of celebration!
🌟 Customer Stories
We’ve loved seeing how our vans are being used - whether it’s Max from Emissionless driving his G2 across the country, our luxury "hotel on wheels" van build for Rollaway being rented out on the West Coast, HMHB Hawaii using a G2 as a medical van, or the many RVs that are being driven around North America for sustainable adventures, we’re proud of the impact these vans are making (and we're sharing it all on our Instagram).
🌍 Events
We’ve been delighted to give people the opportunity to tour a G2 in person at Overland Expo in Loveland, CO and Electrify Expo in Austin, TX. With hundreds of people stepping into the van to take a peak at the future of RVing, we’re excited to take it up a level next year. We’ve got a busy January coming up, with Sam representing Grounded at CES in Las Vegas, and two different G2s on display at the Detroit Auto Show and Grand Rapids RV Show.
🔧 New Developments
From expanding our modular interior library options to introducing exciting new features like motorized awnings and app-controlled blinds, 2024 was all about improving and expanding the G2 platform. In fact, I don't think there is a single aspect of the G2 buildout process that hasn't evolved over the year!
What’s Next for 2025?
We’re gearing up for even bigger things in 2025, including:
• Significant product and design improvements across the entire G2 experience, from the interior space to the Grounded+ app.
• Developing for new electric van platforms.
• Creating new furniture modules and accessories.
• Giving more people the chance to tour and trial a G2, wherever they are in the US.
• Expanding production capacity to build far more vans, faster than ever.
